At its meeting on December 1, 2023 in Kassel, the Executive Board of the Research Association for Renewable Energies (FVEE) elected ForWind member and Fraunhofer IWES Managing Director Professor Andreas Reuter as its new spokesperson.
The Research Association for Renewable Energies (FVEE) is a nationwide cooperation of research institutes. The members research and develop technologies for renewable energies, energy efficiency, energy storage and the optimized technical and socio-economic interaction of all system components. The aim is to transform the energy supply into a sustainable energy system.
Joint energy research in science and industry provides solutions to the challenges of the energy transition. Research creates an essential basis for companies to use innovative energy technology to turn investments in the domestic and global energy transition into added value and jobs. However, the exciting and diverse tasks of the energy transition will require a large number of qualified specialists at all levels in the coming years and decades: Young people who want to make a professional contribution to this future-oriented field and decide to study and gain further academic qualifications.
For Andreas Reuter, it is important that science sends out a positive signal in the energy policy debate.
Andreas Reuter heads the Fraunhofer IWES and also holds a W3 professorship for wind energy technology at Leibniz Universität Hannover, Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geodesy. He plays a key role in shaping the Master’s degree course in Wind Energy Engineering.
