The Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geodetic Science at the Leibniz Universität Hannover invites applications for the following position of salary scale 14 TVL 100% starting at the earliest possible date:

Operations Manager (m/f/d) at the Test Centre for Support Structures Hanover (TTH)

The Test Centre Support Structures Hannover is a research facility of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geodesy at Leibniz Universität Hannover. The aim of the test centre is to increase the efficiency of wind energy use and reduce the associated costs. In cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institute for Wind Energy Systems and companies from the wind industry, the test centre carries out tests on large structural components of onshore and offshore wind turbines. The centre offers the opportunity to test components of support structures and foundation elements on a large scale under multi-axial load conditions. The focus here is particularly on the load-bearing and fatigue behaviour of these components. Since its opening in September 2014, the test centre can look back on a long list of successfully completed national and international projects.

The position is initially limited until 31.08.2026, with the possibility of extension.

Your position at a glance

As Operations Manager of the Test Centre Load-bearing Structures Hanover, you will be responsible for all scientific, technical and commercial aspects of the test operation and for the necessary coordination with the Directorate and all institutions involved. You will ensure the smooth and safe operation of the TTH and compliance with the user regulations and safety regulations.

You are expected to

  • independent acquisition, planning and realisation of experimental scientific studies in close coordination with the researching institutions
  • decisive design of the necessary experimental realisation (laboratories, test benches, other experimental facilities) in all service phases

 

Who are we looking for?

The prerequisite for employment is a successfully completed scientific university degree, preferably in civil engineering. An independent and goal-orientated way of working, combined with a high degree of reliability, teamwork and coordination skills are required. Physical and personal aptitude for operating machines, lifting equipment and crane systems must be present.

In addition, we expect the following qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of laboratory test technology, laboratory measurement technology and test design and evaluation.
  • Confident handling of electronic data processing media, IT skills (MS Office: Word and Excel, programmes for controlling measuring devices and evaluating measurement results, database software)
  • Very good language skills in English and German
