Dr.-Ing. Christoph Abraham has joined the Test Centre for Support Structures Hannover (TTH) at Leibniz Universität Hannover as our new Operations Manager. As part of the ForWind research network, he will also serve as the primary contact for wind energy research at the Institute for Steel Construction under Prof. Elyas Ghafoori.
Dr. Abraham brings extensive expertise in steel structures and bolted connections. He earned his doctorate at the Institute for Metal and Lightweight Structures (IML) at the University of Duisburg-Essen, focusing on “Stainless and Carbon Steel Bolts Subjected to Tension and Shear Loading.”
A certified Bolting Engineer (DSV)®, he previously served as a laboratory engineer and deputy head of the Essen Laboratory for Steel Construction (ELSta) at IML. In addition to his new role at TTH, Dr. Abraham is an adjunct lecturer at the IU International University.
We look forward to Dr. Abraham’s contributions in advancing our research and innovation in wind energy and support structures. Please join us in welcoming him to the team.
About the Test Centre for Support Structures Hannover (TTH)
The TTH specializes in testing large structures and components under complex load conditions. Its cutting-edge facilities provide the infrastructure to experimentally investigate support structures and foundation elements for wind turbines. By validating calculation models and optimizing structural designs, the aim is to improve structural safety and increase the efficiency and service life of support structures. This work not only enhances the reliability of wind energy systems but also contributes to the advancement of sustainable engineering solutions.
