ForWind has officially joined the Norwegian FME NorthWind as an associated research partner institute. Strengthening the relationship with NorthWind and pooling the already impressive expertise and research infrastructure of both institutions will further the common goal of intensifying large-scale research projects across Europe to accelerate the wind energy transition.
This partnership is implemented through the participation of ForWind in the activities of NorthWind’s scientific advisory board, the exchange and transfer of knowledge between doctoral students and the active search for opportunities for cooperation in joint projects.
FME NorthWind is one of Norway’s centers for environmentally friendly energy research (FME). It conducts long-term research focusing on renewable energies, energy efficiency, CCS and social science aspects of energy research. FME NorthWind is working to turn wind energy research and development into a profitable export industry that creates green jobs and respects nature. Research will address the major scientific and technical challenges to realize the full potential of the wind energy sector in a sustainable future.
