At the February meeting of the ForWind Executive Board, Prof. Dr. Raimund Rolfes from the Institute of Statics and Dynamics at Leibniz Universität Hannover was unanimously elected as scientific spokesperson for ForWind. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Johanna Myrzik from the Institute of Automation Technology (Universität Bremen) was elected deputy spokesperson.

The two succeed Prof. Dr. Joachim Peinke from the Institute of Physics at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg. Peinke, who heads the Turbulence, Wind Energy and Stochastics working group, has already been ForWind’s scientific spokesperson several times and will hand over the role on a rotational basis on 1 March 2024.

The Executive Board and the entire ForWind organisation would like to thank Joachim Peinke for his dedication and great commitment, which is particularly appreciated in light of the multi-year pandemic situation.

ForWind pools university wind energy research in the north-west and brings together 30 institutes and working groups from the universities of Oldenburg, Hanover and Bremen. You can find an overview of the current ForWind organisational structure here: https://forwind.de/en/organization/
